Why direct-to-wall

What your wall can do, no film can.

Printed straight onto the wall rather than stuck onto it: more individual, more hygienic, more sustainable, safer — and without the chain of preparation, installation and removal that comes with adhesive.

The value

Why print on walls? The sum is what decides.

Not one argument — eight, and they compound. Every one of them shows up measurably in how your building runs.

Unique and site-specific

Every wall a one-off: your image, your building, your story — not catalogue goods.

On almost any substrate

Plaster, concrete, glass, brick, tile — including where adhesive film fails. The texture of the wall stays visible.

No preparation

We print onto the wall as it is. Adhesive film needs the surface skimmed smooth first.

While you stay open

Instantly dry, low odour, one person, one appointment — no closed corridor, no building site.

Hygienic and easy to clean

A seamless, wipeable surface — no edges, seams or voids the way film and wallpaper have.

Friendly to fire regulations

No additional layer of material on the wall, unlike bonded films and wallpapers.

Sustainable

No carrier material, no offcuts, no film waste — printed with solvent-free, vegan UV ink.

Flexible to the last minute — and after

Change the artwork until shortly before printing. And when something new comes: paint over it instead of picking it off.

Where the value is greatest

Rooms where wall printing makes the difference.

Only possible with direct printing

Secure rooms: psychiatry & corrections

Frames and glass are suicide risks; peelable films carry choking and poisoning risks. Direct printing is inseparable from the wall — design where it was previously impossible.

Barely feasible with film

Concrete & glass

Design exposed concrete and glazing without covering them — the texture stays visible and becomes part of the image.

Care & clinics

Seamless, wipeable, no added fire load — printed while the ward stays open.

Museums & exhibitions

Exhibition today, painted over tomorrow, the next one the day after — changes up to the last moment.

Schools & municipalities

Nothing to pick off, robust, paintable. One authority, many buildings.

Hotel & hospitality

One-off rooms instead of ageing film corners — chain rollouts included.

How it works · The wallPen network

Your wall. A vetted partner. Introduced by the manufacturer.

You describe your project once — we review it as the manufacturer and hand it to a certified partner in our network near you. They get in touch shortly: advice, artwork, quote and scheduling from one source, printed with original wallPen technology.

Describe the project

Photograph the wall, estimate the area, sketch what you want — a few minutes, no obligation.

wallPen reviews and introduces

Feasibility, substrate, artwork idea — you get an honest assessment, then the right certified partner takes over.

Your partner prints

Trained and certified by the manufacturer — for example innenside.de and other businesses in the network.

We accompany exceptional projects ourselves: for flagship and pilot projects — a building’s first project, complex sites, multiple locations — wallPen supports at a higher level as the manufacturer: we agree the approach, plan, cost it and organise delivery together with the partners.

✓ Manufacturer’s promise: every inquiry is reviewed by us and handed to a certified partner — printing is done exclusively with original wallPen technology by trained operators.

The honest part

What wall printing cannot do.

A margin of a few centimetres remains at floors, ceilings and internal corners. In practice, cut-out motifs, gradients and deliberate image edges solve this — your partner plans the margin in from the start.

Why is this section here? Because you build decisions on facts. So do we.

Frequently asked

Before you get in touch.

What does a wall print cost?

It depends on area, artwork and substrate — your partner issues a fixed-price quote after review. Cost the whole chain: direct printing removes skim-coat preparation, carrier material and the later removal.

Does the wall need preparing?

Usually not — we print onto the wall as it is, texture included. It must be sound, dry and dust-free; for unusual substrates your partner runs a test print first.

Can you print while we stay open?

Yes. The ink is instantly dry and low odour, and one person works in a single appointment — no building site, no closed-off areas.

How long does the print last — and how do I get rid of it?

The ink bonds with the wall: durable, scratch-resistant, wipeable. When the image should go, it is simply painted over — no peeling, no adhesive residue.

What about hygiene and fire safety?

The result is a seamless, wipeable surface without edges or voids — and unlike film or wallpaper, no additional layer of material goes onto the wall. We compile project-specific documentation on request.

Who prints at my site?

A certified partner in your region, trained and vetted by the manufacturer. We accompany exceptional projects ourselves in addition.

Where does the artwork come from?

From you, your designer, or the partner’s artwork studio — photos, illustrations, graphics. Changes are possible until shortly before printing, with no material wasted.
