We respect professional-body requirements — where a fee is not appropriate, we find the right form of collaboration, from specialist planning support to visibility for your practice. We never pay anyone employed on the client side.

How do I specify direct-to-wall printing in a compliant tender?
With our specification templates: manufacturer naming as “wallPen process or equivalent”, a bidder line for the offered make, items separated by substrate, plus supplementary items for white ink and exterior execution.
Which substrates are suitable — and which only conditionally?
Plaster, concrete, glass, brick, wood, metal; textures up to roughly 10 mm. Where suitability is in doubt, a test print is made before execution; glazed tiles are always subject to proof of suitability.
Interior and exterior — what is the difference?
Interior is the standard. Exterior execution uses a UV protective coat as a separate supplementary item; colour stability outdoors is lower (manufacturer data is in the specification templates).
When do I need white ink?
For opaque artwork on glass, dark or coloured surfaces. Against plain CMYK, white means considerably more work and runs as its own supplementary item — which keeps every bidder’s costing comparable.
How do I plan the margins?
A few centimetres remain unprinted at floors, ceilings and internal corners. Cut-out motifs, gradients and deliberate image edges integrate the margin — we advise on artwork planning.
What evidence exists on fire safety and emissions?
Direct printing adds no extra layer of material to the wall. We compile project-specific evidence and ink certificates on request — talk to us early in the project.
How is it executed — who prints?
Certified partner businesses in the wallPen network; on request we will name businesses for your project region. We accompany flagship and pilot projects ourselves at a higher level.
