Ten years of direct-to-wall printing from Wissen an der Sieg. We are marking it with the ten strongest projects of ten years (10 Stories) and by printing ten walls for non-profit places (10 Walls for 10 Years). Every machine shipped this year carries the numbered Edition 10 plaque.
What is direct-to-wall printing?
Direct-to-wall printing puts artwork onto the wall with no carrier material: the UV ink bonds with the substrate — plaster, concrete, glass, brick or tile — and dries instantly. Unlike wallpaper or film, no extra layer of material is created: nothing to lift at the edges, bubble up, or be picked off when it is removed. The technology is developed and built by wallPen in Wissen an der Sieg — the original of direct-to-wall printing, internationally patented.
Which substrates?
Almost all of them: plaster, concrete, glass, brick, tile, wood — textured surfaces included, with no preparation.
How long does it last?
The ink bonds with the wall — durable, scratch-resistant, wipeable. And when something new comes along: just paint over it.
Can you print while we stay open?
Yes — instantly dry, low odour, one person, one appointment. No closed corridor, no building site.
